THREE elderly men were rescued today after their yacht broke down 12 miles out to sea.

The trio became stranded at around 9pm yesterday after engine failure off the Essex coast.

The RNLI lifeboat from Harwich and Holbrook Coastguard towed the vessel into Shotley Marina in Suffolk at around 2.30am.

A spokeswoman for Harwich Coastguard said: “The men were all ok, just tired.”
