Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Clacton this morning.

Elderly residents of an address in Queens Road woke up to find two people in their house at around 2am.

Bank cards and a purse belonging to one of the victims were taken, although they were later recovered further down the road.

Detective Inspector Gary Biddle, from Clacton CID, said: “This was a very frightening incident for the victims, who are both elderly.

“Although they were not hurt they’ve been left shaken and it’s really important we find the people responsible.

“If you have any information about this incident or saw two people acting suspiciously in the area, I need you to contact me.”

If you have any information, contact Clacton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
