The five candidates all hoping to be elected as MP for South Suffolk are to take part in an election hustings in Hadleigh on Monday evening – May 22.

The hustings at St Mary’s Church starts at 6.30pm, and will give local residents the chance to see and hear those who are hoping to be elected at the general election on June 8.

The candidates are: James Cartlidge (Conservative), Emma Bishton (Labour), Andrew Aalders-Dunthorne (Liberal Democrat), Robert Lindsay (Green). Aidan Powlesland (UKIP).

The campaign in South Suffolk is now underway and Monday is the closing day for people to apply to go on the electoral register before the general election.

Postal votes are expected to start arriving on people’s doormats next week – which means the first votes in the election could be cast within a few days. This will be an opportunity for people in the Hadleigh area to hear what candidates have to say.
