A field full of First World War huts will provide the backdrop for a free performance near Bury St Edmunds by an electro-folk storytelling outfit.
Harp and a Monkey will perform at Brook Farm in Hawstead as part of the Heritage Open Day weekend, which is the latest phase of the group’s project to mark the ongoing centenary of the war.
The folk trio have been performing at various locations related to the conflict, including the site of a former World War One aerodrome and a Lancashire prison which housed conscientious objectors.
Martin Purdy, front-man of Harp and a Monkey and WW1 historian, said: “This show gives us the chance to talk about the infrastructure of war and the largest building project ever undertaken on British shores.
“We are particularly excited about it as we have not played in this part of the world before.”
The performance takes place on Sunday, September 10, at 2pm. The event is free and suitable for people of all ages.
