IPSWICH tennis star Elena Baltacha has been handed a golden chance to progress in the Olympics.
Baltacha has been drawn against unranked Hungarian Agnes Szavay in the first round of Games’ tennis tournament which starts on Saturday.
Team GB compatriot Anne Keothavong faces former world number one Caroline Wozniacki but Baltacha’s task is apparently easier, on paper, against an opponent who has played only one match in more than a year because of a back injury and does not even have a world ranking.
In the doubles, Baltacha and Keothavong play Julia Goerges and Anna-Lena Groenefeld.
Elsewhere, Andy Murray faces a tough start against world number 26 Stanislas Wawrinka while he is also in the same half of the draw as Novak Djokovic.
