Elmswell: Village road closed because of car fire re-opens

A road had to be closed as fire fighters tackled a car blaze in a Suffolk village.

Police were called to the A1088 near the Norton junction in Elmswell at about 11.45am where a Ford Galaxy vehicle was on fire.

A force spokeswoman said the road was blocked in both directions while the fire was put out.

The vehicle has now been recovered and the road was re-opened by 12.55pm.
