A DRIVER was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after a six vehicle crash on the A11 at Elveden.

It happened at 3.30pm near the turning for Barnham.

Six vehicles - a black Jaguar S-Tye, a silver Ford Focus, a blue Fiat Punto, a black Lexus GS430, a black Volkswagen Gold and a grey Passat - were involved in the crash.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said everyone involved in the crash was conscious and breathing although many people were suffering from back and neck pain.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance service said there were four casualties and one was taken to West Suffolk General Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
