A car crashed into a tree and ended up in a ditch on the A12 south of Yoxford last night.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said the force was called at 9.37pm to the single-vehicle incident involving a Citroen.

The East of England Ambulance Service attended the scene along with the Suffolk Fire and Rescue who had to cut the driver out of his vehicle.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Ipswich Hospital for treatment.

The road was partically closed while recovery took place and it was fully reopened at 12.39 this morning.
