A unique sandwich designed by five students from Bury St Edmunds County Upper School is set to go on sale at stores across East Anglia.
The Subtastico Sub is the result of a competition run by Subway, the fast-food chain, that challenged budding entrepreneurs from schools, colleges and sixth-forms to design and market a new sandwich.
The winning team of students from County Upper School launched their sub yesterday at the Bury store on Parkway. It features a mix of chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato and cucumber accompanied with BBQ sauce and served on Italian white bread.
The team – Louisa Baker, Hannah Robson, Beatrice Pakalnyte, Megan Manfield and Yasmin O’Farrell – are all sixth-formers at the school.
They had to design, brand and market the sandwich and were up against dozens of teams from across East Anglia.
