The clock was turned back more than half a century as around 1,500 vintage enthusiasts converged on Hedingham Castle for a day of fun and nostalgia.
Now in its third year, the ‘Vintage Affair’ event on Sunday featured more than 60 stalls selling everything from vintage clothing and furniture to memorabilia. In addition, visitors had a chance to have their hair and makeup done in 1940s and 50s style.
Dozens of classic cars were also on show, with members of the Angle Mog Morgan Sports Car Club and the Colne Valley Car Club proudly displaying their prized motors. Music of the era was provided by The Galaxy Big Band, and the Sudbury Lindy Hoppers demonstrated some nifty dance moves to match.
Ann Juniper-Dickson, from Juniper Flowers in Sudbury, organised the event. She donated a vintage dress which was raffled on the day for West Suffolk Hospital’s Forget-Me-Not Dementia Campaign. She said: “Everyone was dressed up in vintage gear and it was such a fun day. I think people love to reminisce about bygone eras.”
