Four rescued after ambulance vehicle leaves road

Suffolk and Essex firefighters rescued a group of people from an ambulance transport vehicle after it left the road in a village near Sudbury this evening.
Three fire crews from Sudbury, Clare and Long Melford joined teams from Halstead at the scene of the crash, in School Road, Pentlow.
They were called to reports an ambulance transport vehicle had left the road and travelled up a bank.
Four people were freed from the vehicle and left in the care of paramedics.
Officers from Suffolk and Essex police were also called, as the crash happened close to the border between both counties.

No-one involved is thought to have serious injuries, a fire service spokesman said.
They added: “We were called at 7.23pm today to an ambulance transport vehicle which had left the road and travelled up a steep bank.

“Four people were released and left in the care of the ambulance service.
“No-one is thought to have serious injuries.”
All emergency crews were able to leave the scene by 9.50pm.
