Woman freed from overturned car after crash

Firefighters worked to free a woman who had become trapped in an overturned car last night.

Two crews from Colchester were alerted to a crash in Cowdray Avenue in the town at just before 8pm.

“Firefighters assisted at the scene of a road traffic collision,” a spokesman said.

“On arrival crews reported that one female was trapped following the incident, which involved two vehicles.

“One of the vehicles had also been left on its side.”

The firefighters freed the casualty by 8.20pm and left her in the care of the ambulance service.
