Essex: Firefighters received more than 200 flooding related calls

Firefighters in Essex received more than 200 flooding related calls today involving 130 separate incidents.
In the north west of the county, where the flooding was at its worst, 10 people and two dogs were rescued from a block of flats in Saffron Walden.
A motorist was also rescued from his car in Saffron Walden and crews attended dozens of flooded homes, pumping out water from property.
Properties were affected in Saffron Walden, Newport, Wendens Ambo, Debden, Stansted, Arkesden, Ashdon,Quendon, Henham, Wethersfield, Wimbish, Thaxted and Braintree.
