Two Essex food entrepreneurs have launched an artisan mayonnnaise brand.
Chelmsford-based business partners Marcin Bartkowiak and Radomir Wnenk, of Essex Garden Foods, have gone into production with their specialist ‘Proper Classic’ sauces, which they launched at the town’s Meadows Shopping Centre.
Marcin is a landscape architect and Radomir a butcher who would make the sauces to his own original recipe for friends and relatives. When friends started begging for more, they knew they had something they could bring to market and launched Proper Classic Mayonnaise, Proper Classic with fresh garlic and Proper Classic with fresh Scotch Bonnet chillies.
Marcin, originally from Poland, and Radomir, from the Czech Republic, have been in Essex for 11 years.
“Essex is our home,” they said. “We wouldn’t think of going anywhere else to start up our business.”
