A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm following a serious assault on a 65-year-old man.
The attack happened in Parsons Field, Dedham, around 4.20pm on Sunday.
The victim, a man from Dedham, suffered a serious head injury and was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Jason Fines, 47, of Parsons Field, was charged with GBH on Tuesday.
He appeared at Colchester Magistrates court and has been remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown court on September 21.
