A woman in her 40s has been left shaken after a robber demanded money from her in a street in Colchester.

The incident took place In New Town Road at around 6.10pm on December 16.

A man demanded money from the victim and left with a two-figure sum of cash in the direction of Wimpole Road.

The victim was left unharmed but shaken after the incident.

Essex Police are appealing for information about the robbery and have released a description of the man.

He is described as white, of average build and around 6ft tall. He is believed to be in his 30s.

He was wearing black jogging bottoms, a black hooded top and a bobble hat.

Anyone who has any information, CCTV or who has dashcam footage from the area is asked to call Colchester’s Local Policing Team on 101 quoting the reference 42/184181/18.
