A group of Essex teenagers travelling from Chelmsford to Great Baddow were reportedly verbally abused as they sat on a bus.

While travelling on the number 57 bus from Chelmsford town centre it is thought that the group were the target of an offensive outburst, with Essex Police hoping to speak to any passengers who witnessed the incident.

Kes Verma, 63, of Heycroft Way, Chelmsford has been arrested and charged with three counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The incident happened between 11.15am and 11.25am on Friday, October 5, with Verma due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on November 10.
