An ostrich is reported to be on the loose in north Essex.

The force control room at Essex Police said it had received reports of an ostrich in Clacton.

“Reports of an ostrich running around in the road,” the control room tweeted.

Essex Police’s press office was asked for further details.

However a force spokesman said: “We don’t have anything further on this I’m afraid.”
