Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing after a car smashed into Essex streetlights.

Police were called to reports that a Ford had collided with the lights in Parkway, Chelmsford, at around 1.15am on Monday.

Officers attended and arrested a woman aged in her 20s, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

A man in his 20s, believed to be the passenger of the vehicle, was also arrested on suspicion with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Both have been released on bail until July 27.
