Three people have been taken to hospital following a collision in Colchester on Boxing Day.

Essex Police were called to Smeaton Close shortly after 9.10pm on December 26 after reports that a Volkswagen Golf had been involved in a collision with a parked Vauxhall Corsa and three pedestrians.

Officers say the collision took place during a car meet event and enquiries are ongoing.

Two women, both aged 30 and from the Halstead area and a 20-year-old man from Clacton were taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Officers are particularly interested in hearing from witnesses and anyone with dashcam and mobile footage. Those with such footage should contact PC Robert Elvin at Stanway Roads Policing Unit on 101.

Footage can also submitted online.
