A Clacton man has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and threatening to destroy or damage property following reports of verbal abuse towards a woman at a clothing store in the town.
Essex Police is appealing for witnesses to the alleged “disturbance” after officers were contacted with reports a man was verbally abusive towards a 37-year-old woman at Impressions in Rosemary Road shortly before 3.40pm on Friday.
A 32-year-old man from Clacton was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and threatening to destroy or damage property.
He was released on bail until January 9, pending further inquiries.
Officers want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly a member of the public who was in the shop at the time.
