Two men kicked their way into an Essex home in an aggravated burglary attempt which left the victim “shaken” and with minor hand injuries.

The offenders were heard banging on the door of the property in Peel Crescent, Braintree, on Sunday, April 22, before kicking it open.

A woman, who was at home at the time, also heard the men shouting, as they smashed their way in to the property at around 11.45pm.

The door struck her as it was kicked open, which caused her a minor hand injury.

Essex Police said the two men threatened the woman before leaving empty handed.

The suspects were described white, aged in his late 20s and around 5ft 9ins.

One had blond hair shaved short at the sides, was of a “chubby” build and wore a white T-shirt and jeans.

The other had dark hair in the same style, was of a muscular build and wore dark T-shirt and jeans.

The victim said they had Irish accents.

Investigating officer Dc Red Leeson said: “Although the victim didn’t require hospital treatment, she has been left shaken by the ordeal.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who has saw anything suspicious to contact Braintree CID on 101 or Crimerstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who has any CCTV or dash cam footage that can assist with our enquiries.”
