A busy traffic interchange in Essex has been closed for safety reasons - leading to major tailbacks in the area.
Essex County Council’s traffic control said the Army and Navy flyover in Chelmsford was closed for “investigation and maintenance work”.
“Traffic is queuing on the Baddow bypass approaching the Army and Navy roundabout and also building on Van Diemans Road, Chelmer Road and Baddow Road,” it added.
The AA traffic website added that the flyover had been closed for “safety reasons”.
“Investigation and maintenance works need to take place before the flyover can be reopened,” it added.
