TRAFFIC is moving smoothly on Suffolk’s roads approaching rush hour this evening.

Trains are also running on time across the county, with few mainline delays to and from London.

In the last hour, traffic has began to ease on the westbound carriageway of the A14 after a lane was blocked by a broken down lorry.

Traffic was restricted for 30 minutes from around 3pm between the Bury eastern and central interchange.

Outside Suffolk, there were hold-ups in Thetford where an earlier accident caused slow traffic in both directions of the A11.

Meanwhile, ongoing roadworks continue on both carriageways of the A12 at Wrentham and on the A134 Rougham Road, in Bury St Edmunds, which are expected to continue until the end of next week.

Closer to Ipswich, repairs continue to be carried out at the Kitchener Road junction of Norwich Road, with temporary traffic lights in place.

Bixley Road is also affected by roadworks at Felixstowe Road until the beginning of next week.

Long running work continues in Duke Street where temporary traffic lights are controlling the flow of traffic at Fore Hamlet.

Temporary traffic lights are also in place at the bottom of Spring Road.

In Woodbridge, Church Street is closed both ways at Seckford Street due to roadworks.

Roadworks in Stowmarket have also closed a stretch of the southbound A1120 Stowmarket at Needham Road.
