Scores of fans, including a pair of mothers and daughters from as far away as Coventry and Hertfordshire, made the journey to Ipswich to see Joey Essex, the TV star of “The Only Way Is Essex”, “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here”, “Splash”, “The Jump” and “Celebs Go Dating”.
He was a special guest at the official opening of German Doner Kebab, in Westgate Street, today, with those attending screaming with delight as their heart throb strode towards the restaurant.
“This must be the busiest doner kebab shop in the world,” he exclaimed as he hugged and greeted many of the female fans as they had congregated to await his arrival.
Hannah Higgs, 18, had left the Midlands at 10am with her mother Mandy and cousin Jade just to meet up with him again after previously linking up with the star in Somerset.
Franchisee Jimmy Shah said that he was delighted that Joey found the time to visit the store and that he is planning to open further outlets in Southend in June plus those in Colchester, Chelmsford, Basildon and Romford.
