EX-Ipswich Town footballer Titus Bramble will face no action after he was arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a woman in a Newcastle hotel, it has been reported.

The defender, who now plays for Sunderland, and his brother Tesfaye were arrested at the Vermont Hotel on 22 September after a 19-year-old woman complained to police.

But police have said Bramble, 29, will face no further action. His brother, who played non-league football in Suffolk, remains on police bail.
