A much-used Sunday bus services linking two Suffolk towns and a coastal parish has been extended following a successful trial period.
The 202 service between Ipswich and Shotley, which runs four times a day every Sunday, was launched in August and Suffolk County Council has extended the service until at least the end of March 2015.
Two additional journeys – also launched in August – on the Hadleigh to Ipswich 90 route to link up with the new service have also been extended over the same period. Buses from Ipswich to Shotley will run at 9am, 11am, 1.30pm and 4pm. It is managed by Hadleigh Community Transport Group, which already runs the 90 route.
Joy Moran, Hadleigh Community Transport Group manager, said: “The new services have proved to be very popular so we are delighted to have been awarded the contract to continue running them until the end of March next year and then hopefully beyond.
“Since the service was launched with have carried out 500 passenger journeys and a recent survey we carried out showed just how much users appreciate it.”
