A tree blocked the railway line near Chappel and Wakes Colne station in Essex this morning and delayed services travelling between Marks Tey and Sudbury.
Network Rail staff had to be sent to the site to remove the tree but until that was completed a rail replacement bus service had to be set up.
This extended journey times by around 20 minutes with the disruption lasting until around 11.30am.
Abellio Greater Anglia apologised to passengers on its website for the disruption.
Details about the rail company’s delay repay police can be found here.
