Essex Police are investigating a burglary in Braintree in which several laptops containing 15 years of family photos were taken.

The incident happened at a house in Coldnailhurst Avenue between 1.15pm and 3.20pm on Monday.

Intruders broke into the property by forcing the door at the back and causing damage to the door frame.

Two Apple Macbook laptops and an iPad were stolen.

Investigating officer DC Nick Campbell, said: “The family are devastated because the laptops contained photographs going back 15 years.

“They have said that the whole family history will be effectively wiped out if they do not get the laptops back.

“Fifteen years of photographs have just gone and cannot be replaced.

“We are following several lines of enquiry but we would like to hear from anyone who might have been offered the laptops and iPad for sale, or from anyone who might have seen them advertised on any social media or auction sites.”

Any witnesses or anyone who saw any suspicious activity at the time should contact Essex Police on 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
