Concrete paving slabs fell off a lorry in east Suffolk in a crash which caused major delays for some rush-hour commuters last night.

A stretch of the A1094 in Farnham was closed in both directions for more than three hours following the collision between a grey Chrysler Voyager and a lorry shortly before 4pm.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said the lorry had shed its load of concrete paving slabs as a result of the crash, which did not cause any serious injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler suffered minor chest injuries. The lorry driver was unhurt.

The collision took place near the Hulver Lane junction on the A1094.

The road had fully re-opened by 7.30pm.
