A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision in Essex this morning.
The accident happened just before 6am in Woodham Mortimer, near Maldon when a motorcycle and a van struck each other at the junction of the B418 Southend Road.
The motorcyclist died at the scene and the 43-year-old driver of the VW box van was uninjured.
The van driver, who comes from London, was arrested and is currently being questioned at Chelmsford police station.
A section of the road was closed throughout the morning but was due to re-open at lunchtime.
