DRIVERS experienced delays on the A14 today after it was closed in both directions following a fatal road accident.

Police were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash at 10.39am at Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire on the west-bound side of the busy dual-carriageway.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “The vehicle has collided with the central reservation and one person has died. No-one else is believed to be injured.”

Both carriageways, east and west-bound, were closed for several hours and diversions were put in place but the road has now fully reopened.
