A WOMAN killed by a car thought to have been driven by her husband has today been named as Sandra Roden, from Great Yarmouth.

The 64-year-died after she was struck by a car, believed to have been driven by her husband, in the seaside Suffolk town of Southwold.

Despite efforts by paramedics to resuscitate her, the woman died at the scene of the collision at about 11.30am yesterday after being knocked unconscious by the car.

A man was taken for treatment to a head injury and shock to the James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston, where he still remains.

The car involved was a black Chrysler PT and the road, near Southwold Common, was closed for several hours as traffic police carried out investigations into the cause of the crash.
