A car park in the resort has been closed as work begins on the development of the South Seafront.
The Wireless Green car park, which offers free spaces on a Sunday, is part of the site being developed by Bloor Homes.
Councillors have apologised for the short notice but have said Bloor were forced to secure the area following its recent occupation by travellers.
Andrew Nunn, cabinet member for the green environment, said: “It is a shame to lose the free Sunday car park but there are many other car parks on offer to visitors to Felixstowe, and motorists can look forward to a new car park opening at Langer Road in about 14 months that will offer 261 pay and display spaces every day of the week.”
