FIREFIGHTERS were called to a nursing home at Undercliffe Road East in Felixstowe on Sunday morning.
The fire in a kitchen at the home was brought under control by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using special water equipment.
Thee blaze was contained within about 15 minutes of their arrival, but work was continuing to clear up the mess.
