Five people have been taken to hospital following a collision in Fingringhoe this morning.

The incident happened at 9.41am, following a collision between a bus and a car in the village near Colchester.

A rapid response vehicle, four ambulances, and the hazardous area response team were dispatched to the scene following a 999 call at 9.41am.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “The bus was carrying passengers when it was involved in a collision on Furneaux Lane and we took five people in total to hospital.

“Three people were suffering from back and chest pain, one person had a wrist injury, and a fifth person had a foot injury.

“All of the casualties were taken to Colchester General Hospital.

“Fortunately none of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening.”
