FIREFIGHTERS battled for an hour to tackle a blaze which engulfed half a hectare of trees and undergrowth behind a primary school.
Crews from Woodbridge, Princes Street station in Ipswich and Colchester Road headquarters were called to the area behind Gorseland Primary in Martlesham at around 1.56pm today.
Upon arrival they found an area measuring half a hectare of gorse, undergrowth and trees well alight but managed to get the flames under control by 2.55pm.
