FIREFIGHTERS today tackled a fire in Ipswich which engulfed undergrowth and hedging.

Two fire crews from Princes Street station were called shortly after 2pm to Sandringham Close where a blaze had started in a 30 metre area of undergrowth.

The flames were under control by 2.25pm.

Princes Street firefighters were then called to another undergrowth fire in the Sandy Hill Lane and Raeburn Road area of Ipswich. The fire was extinguished by 6pm.
