FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a chimney fire in Old Newton.
Crews from Stowmarket were called to the blaze in Hundred Lane at 9.31pm tonight.
On arrival firefighters used small gear and brought the fire under control by 10.00pm.
Meanwhile, crews from Sudbury also dealt with a chimney fire in Bures Road, Great Cornard, which started at 8.52pm.
Firefighters had contained the fire by 9.16pm by using chimney gear.
