Fire fighters forced their way into a burning Newmarket flat in the early hours to rescue a trapped woman.
Three fire engines, two ambulances, an ambulance officer and the hazardous area response team were sent to George Lambton Avenue at 1.30am.
A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews effected entry and one person was led to safety before the incident was declared under control at 2.07am.”
The patient, a woman in her 50s, was cared for by paramedics and did not need to go to hospital, an ambulance spokesman said.
