Fire crews rush to open air blaze in Ipswich

Four engines were sent to tackle a fire covering a huge area of undergrowth in Ipswich this evening.

Firefighters were called at 5.39pm today and spent an hour fighting the blaze on the 20 x 100m patch of land on Gainsborough Lane.

There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the incident.

A stop was called at 6.26pm.

Adriano Guedes, aged 65, of Kessingland, moved to England from Portugal more than 15 years ago and was admitted to hospital in 2014 after having a stroke.
