An investigation is underway has been launched after a bedroom fire at a semi-detached property in Essex.
Fire crews were called to Coggeshall Road, Braintree, at around 6.45pm.
Initially it was thought that people were inside but by 7pm everyone had been accounted for.
Two crews from Braintree used breathing apparatus and one hose reel to tackle the fire, which was in an upstairs bedroom.
A spokesman for the fire service said they and the police would be holding a joint investigation to establish the course of the blaze, which left the property heavily smoke logged.
