Four fire crews worked for nearly three hours to extinguish a combine harvester blaze in Hoxne.
Firefighters from Framlingham and Stradbroke were sent to a farmer’s field in the village at around 8.50pm yesterday.
Police also responded to the incident and closed a small road near the field while fire crews tackled the blaze.
On arrival, firefighters found that 100 square metres of stubble and cut straw was also alight.
Using one jet, two hosereels, a thermal imaging camera and water shuttle, firefighters put out the flames by 11.30pm.
