A FORMER primary school has been gutted in a fire which started in the early hours of the morning.
The old Harwich County Primary School in Main Road, Harwich, caught alight at around 4.20am today.
Firefighters from Dovercourt, Manningtree and Frinton were called to the school, which was replaced by a newly built premises in nearby Barrack Lane several years ago, and spent two hours putting the flames out.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.
