FIRE and rescue teams have been sent to tackle a fire which has broken out in Elveden forest.
The blaze, which has been confined to an acre of the woods, was spotted by a member of the public who contacted the emergency services at 1.10pm today.
Crews from Mildenhall, Thetford and Bury St Edmunds are currently at the scene of the fire - in block 168 of the forest, near the A11 - as well as a water truck from Newmarket and the service's all terrain fire fighting vehicle.
Fire fighters are still tackling the flames.
