Firefighters were called to a fire in a field of hay bails earlier this evening.
The incident happened shortly after 6.15pm in Chigborough Road, Maldon.
Thirty tonnes of bailed hay in a field of grass were on fire, near the fishing ponds in Chigborough Road.
Fire crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire by 8pm.
