A WOMAN had to be cut free from her vehicle after it was involved in a collision in Washbrook.

A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car after it was involved in a collision in Washbrook.

The incident happened at 16.43 on Saturday afternoon at Wright's corner, opposite Chapel House in the village, just outside Ipswich.

Firefighters were called to the scene to free the woman from the vehicle using specialist hydraulic cutting equipment.

Paramedics initially feared the woman had suffered spinal injuries in the accident. A spokesman said she was taken to Ipswich Hospital and it is thought her injuries are not life threatening.
