Firefighters freed a person who was trapped in their vehicle following a crash in Essex last night.

The two-vehicle accident took place on Ernest Road, Wivenhoe, just after 6.30pm and two fire crews from Wivenhoe and Colchester attended the scene.

Firefighters were able to free the person by 7.22pm and they were left in the care of the ambulance service.
