The first floor of a house on Wellum Close was on fire this morning.
Crews from Haverhill were sent to the scene just after 6.30am today (May 21) after reports of a house on fire.
They arrived on scene to find a fire in a first floor bedroom of a property.
Firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and by 7.13am the incident was under control.
They also rescued four kittens which were in a cage in the downstairs dinning room.
