Firefighters tackled an accidental workshop and shed blaze in Witham today.
Two crews, one from Witham and one from Great Baddow, were called to the fire in Church Street at 11.40am and on arrival found a workshop and shed alight in a garden.
Fire officers reported the blaze had spread to further sheds in neighbouring gardens and crews managed to extinguish the fire by 12.50pm.
The shed was completely destroyed while the workshop and neighbouring sheds suffered around 30% of fire damage.
A spokesman for Essex Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the blaze has been recorded as accidental.
Church Street is located on the north side of the Essex town, near St Nicolas’ Church.
St Nicolas’ Church is the Anglican Parish Church of Witham and with the parishes of Rivenhall and Silver End, Terling, Fairstead, White Notley and Faulkbourne, makes up the Witham and Villages Team Ministry.
